Before you begin
- Read through the complete instructions in this topic before you start the installation process.
- Determine your installation scenario. You need to decide which computer(s) should run iCore Process Server (iCPS), the System Access Service, the SAS proxy (optional) and the Administrator website. For more information, see Installation components.
- Review the hardware and software requirements for iCore Process Server.
Take action if any of the prerequisites are not fulfilled.
- For information about MSMQ, see Installing MSMQ.
- Make sure that your user account has administrative rights to the computer(s) where you plan to install iCPS.
- Make sure the name of the computer(s) which will run iCore server(s) is no more than 15 characters in length. This limitation comes from the Windows operating system and Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ).
- Regarding database usage, consider the following:
- If you plan to use an already existing instance of SQL server, make sure that your accounts have the permissions required to set up and run iCore systems. For more information, see Required permissions on database server.
- If you are creating a new database to use with your iCore system, determine the most suitable database authentication method for your organization. For more information, see Database settings.
- Download the installation packages.
- (Optional): Install the iCore database. This step is not required if you already have an SQL server installed on the machine (or elsewhere on the network) which you intend to use for your iCore systems.
- Install the iCore binary files.
The binary files need to be installed on every computer that is to run iCore Process Server, SAS or the Administrator site.
- (Optional): Install and configure the SAS proxy.
- Configure the System Access Service (SAS).
- (Optional): Install the Administrator.
- License the iCore installation (required for every computer that runs iCPS).
- Create your iCore systems.
